• Pupils should attend school every day unless they are genuinely unwell.

• Pupils should arrive on time, ready for learning.

• Parents and carers must contact the school before 8:45am if their child is absent.

Being on time ensures a calm and settled start to the day.

• The school day begins at 8:45am 

• Arrival after 8:45am will be marked as late.

• Arrival after 9:15am may be recorded as an unauthorised absence for the morning session.

Where possible, appointments should be arranged outside the school day.
If an appointment during school hours is unavoidable, please provide the school with the appointment letter or text message.

Holidays during term time are not authorised, except in exceptional circumstances.
Any request for leave must be made in writing in advance.
Unauthorised leave may result in a Penalty Notice issued by the Local Authority. In the first instance this will be £160 per parent per child if paid within 28 days. Reduced to £80 per parent, per child if paid within 21 days.

We monitor attendance closely each week.
If your child’s attendance begins to fall, we will contact you to offer support.
Pupils whose attendance drops below 90% are classed as persistent absentees under national guidance.

Working together, we can ensure every child has the best possible chance to succeed.

• Weekly class attendance awards – The class with the highest weekly attendance will get the attendance trophy for the week

• 100% attendance certificate at the end of the year.
